Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 often referred to professionally under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho Her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. The album was released when she began to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox published her first music on the internet in 2012. She released the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. In 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track "Sweat it out" on 21st July. Later that year her songs were circulating among the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she reported that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. On the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II her appearance was made on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she opted to perform as a guest artist in two songs featuring her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on October 5, 2018, with the music video. On November 9 she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles entitled the No One as well as Pdigree. Then she appeared to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. A music video was released on the 20th of February to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK as part of their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
